Pine Bark Bread (Pettu) Workshop

Step back in time and explore one of Finland’s oldest survival skills — making pine bark bread from scratch. This immersive experience takes you to the base of a pine tree, into the scent of the forest and the warmth of open flames.

We start in the woods, where I guide you on how to harvest pettu (inner pine bark) responsibly. The harvested bark is then dried and ground traditionally into a fine flour. You’ll try every step yourself and learn how Finns have historically used this nourishing food, especially in difficult times.

Finally, we bake pettuleipä (pine bark bread) together over an open fire — and you get to taste your very own handiwork, warm, freshly baked, and infused with the delightful aroma of smoke.

This experience is perfect for anyone wishing to combine traditional craftsmanship, nature’s resources, and shared activity — all while tasting a piece of Finnish history in its most delicious form.

The event is held in the scenic terrains of Eura’s Turajärvi and lasts about 6 hours. If preferred, we can shorten it by skipping the drying step — in which case the total duration is approximately 3–4 hours, but the essence and flavor of the pine bark bread experience remain just as unique.

ATV Adventure – First Touch of Off-Road Power

Want to try riding an ATV and get a feel for its handling across varied terrain? Erämieli’s ATV adventure offers a safe, enjoyable introduction to off-road driving.

This activity works perfectly as a mid-day break between other programs. There's one ATV available, so participants can take turns riding it.

We offer multiple route options: starting from an easy, smooth gravel road, then progressing to more varied terrain — forest tracks, small hills, and more challenging segments. This way, everyone can experience the power of an ATV and the joy of driving at a level that matches their comfort.

Safety and expert guidance ensure that the experience is both successful and enjoyable, even if you’re a total beginner to ATV riding.

Basic Self-Defense – Everyday Safety

The purpose of this event is to give participants a clear understanding of what self-defense means and what it practically includes. Through real-life examples, we practice how to avoid dangerous situations and how to get out of them without using force.

The techniques are simple, easy to learn, and applicable in real-life scenarios. Training emphasizes soft and gross motor movements that function naturally even under pressure.

The instructor is Jari Ruusunenwho has long experience in martial arts and leads a Taekwondo club in Harjavalta.

The course can be arranged alongside other services or almost anywhere at the client’s preferred location — for example, at the company’s own premises.
