Want to begin hiking or trekking but don’t know where to start? Join Jari Ruusunen an experienced wilderness guide, and learn the basics — from essential gear and using outdoor stoves to sourcing water, camping, safety, and your legal right to roam.
This hands-on instruction provides a solid foundation for independent trail adventures — and confidence to head into the wild with ease.
For ages 10+, open to all nature lovers. Pick a 2-hour gear workshop or go for a 1–3 day mini-trek tailored to your preferences. Don't have your own gear? No problem — we supply everything (except clothing/shoes). Just bring your spirit of adventure.
Locations: Scenic areas near Euran Turajärvi and Naarjärvi. Other locations can be arranged on request.
Foraging Nature Walk
Embark on a sensory-rich walk in the woods near Euran Turajärvi, balancing tranquility with hands-on learning and group camaraderie. Discover local plants, mushrooms, and natural ingredients, and learn how to prepare them into a delicious snack or drink — depending on the season and forest offerings.
The group will gather natural ingredients from the forest and, together, we will prepare a delicious snack and/or drink at the end of the trip. The options and opportunities vary with the season and what nature provides, making every outing a truly unique experience.
You'll also learn about your "everyman's right" and practical tips to thrive and feel comforted in nature.
Event Flow and Duration
Forest walk & foraging - Introduction to plants and mushrooms, overview of everyman’s rights (approx. 3 hours)
Food or drink prep - together using open fire or camp stove (~1–2 hours)
